The pumping station was put into operation in August 2021. This will make the Emscher free of wastewater again. The dirty water is now channeled under the Emscher in a 51 km long canal, from Dortmund to the Emscher mouth sewage treatment plant.

The landscape changes. At this point with a view, the sewage is pumped up from the finished round sewer and flows through the angular sewers to the "Emschermündung sewage treatment plant", via which part of Holten can be reached on foot/by bicycle. (Some angular canals have been on the "Playland" playground since ~2013 - a piece by Emscherkunst).

After the extensive construction work, the cycle path is once again fully passable. Tarred on the Emscher dike... if the construction fence is removed, it's a super nice bike path with a holiday feeling
