These boundary stones also stand on the historical border between the former Diocese of Meissen and what was then Bohemian Upper Lusatia. In the first Upper Lusatian border charter of 1241, the border was established between Bishop Bruno and King Wenceslas I at the Königstein. However, this border was not yet marked by boundary stones at that time.
