Tips
The pass road and the Rhone glacier became a tourist attraction when the road was completed. In 1914, 19,102 people were counted as travelling over the pass in stagecoaches. From 1921, the coaches were replaced by post buses.

Nice pass, with 1000 m of D+ and regular slope of around 8%. We did it as a traveling hike, so well loaded. Better to stay humble at the foot of the pass...
