Glacier Bike Tour

Back at the Albula river, it is still easy pedalling. There hasn’t been much climbing yet, today… At Surava, near the Crap Furo (Rhaeto-Romanic for «pierced rock head») you are almost at the geographic center of Graubünden.

We have divided the Glacier Bike Tour into ten stages, all of which can of course be adapted. With a journey time of three to four hours, you have plenty of time for culture and cuisine along the way - and with the Glacier Express stations along the route, you can also take shortcuts as you like.



In this

Stage 7 takes you into the wild landscape of the Oberal Pass. Ups and downs, the source of the Rhine, a change of canton to Uri - and thus Andermatt await you.



There is a lot to see on this stage again. In the first few kilometers, however, you will mainly enjoy the peace and quiet. The Glacier Bike Tour

The start of the Glacier Bike Tour already has a lot in store for you: the beautiful lake landscape in the Engadin high valley and the first pass in the marmot kingdom of Albula. The Albula Pass is the first of three passes on the Glacier Bike Tour.



You start from St. Moritz at 1,822 meters in the Engadin

The beautiful 3rd stage of the Glacier Bike Tour takes you from almost 2,000 meters down into the sun-drenched orchard of Graubünden. The route passes the smallest town in the world and takes you to one of the most important transit cities of the Middle Ages: Thusis.



Before you descend almost 25 kilometers

Stage 4 of the Glacier Bike Tour takes you alone over the ridge of the Heinzenberg west of Thusis, through wide meadows, pastures and forests to sunny Bonaduz at the exit of the Rhine Gorge.



You quickly leave Thusis and the Vorderrhein in the valley and start the ascent up the Heinzenberg. You climb

Stage 5 of the Glacier Bike Tour takes you against the current - and into one of the most impressive landscapes in the Alps. From the spectacular Rhine Gorge through old villages and dreamy alpine landscapes to Ilanz on the Rhine.

Stage 6 takes you from Ilanz on the Rhine route number two - initially a relaxed walk along the river, through alder forests and the large, species-rich floodplain landscape of Ognas da Pardiala - always steadily uphill to the monastery village of Disentis

The most beautiful village in Switzerland and the literal highlight of the Glacier Bike Tour at the Furka Pass at an altitude of 2,429 meters await you on the 8th stage. Incredibly spectacular views of the glacier world of the Valais and the source of the Rhone are included.



The route takes you from Andermatt

Stage 9 of the Glacier Bike Tour takes you through the picturesque Goms. From Ulrichen, the route goes through floodplain forests, lonely valleys and old mountain villages down to the vineyards of the warm Valais. Small villages with sun-blackened Valais houses are scattered throughout the beautiful
