    Hiking

The Glattalphütte is run by a very pleasant, friendly couple and has a beautiful sun terrace, the food is top-notch, so highly recommended. The only disadvantage is perhaps that since the hut is easily accessible by gondola, you will of course not only find hikers in the hut, although that does not necessarily have to be a negative thing.

Please note that the hut will be closed in summer 2020 due to renovation/expansion.

Very nice host and his partner. Unfortunately we didn't have time to eat, but we are definitely planning a "comeback" including an overnight stay, as we looked at the rooms and really liked the hut - very simple, but furnished with love!

These routes provide stunning views of the lake and the unique karst landscape without significant elevation gain. Many circular walks around the lake are suitable for families and offer opportunities for refreshing dips in the stream or lake.

Is Glattalphütte suitable for a winter hike or visit?

The Glattalphütte is typically open and maintained from early June to late October. A year-round emergency shelter is available, but winter conditions require specialized equipment and experience.

The Glattalphütte offers accommodation with 51 beds and an emergency shelter for 12. For guest comfort, the hut is equipped with electricity and showers. Are there any other accommodations or restaurants nearby if Glattalphütte is fully booked?

The Glattalphütte itself is the primary mountain guesthouse and accommodation option directly on the Glattalp. For alternative accommodations or restaurants, you would need to descend to the valley, specifically to the village of Bisisthal or the larger municipality of Muotathal, where various options might be available.
