    Hiking

The Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe is the largest brackish water marsh in Western Europe. In the Middle Ages there were villages and even a castle here. But nature took over here in the 14th and 16th centuries. Several floods during this period have ensured that water flows in and out of Het Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe every day. The mud flats and salt marshes that have arisen are an attraction for birds. Tens of thousands of birds come here to find food, breed, rest and hibernate.

    Hiking

Here you will find the Saeftinghe visitor center (open from April on weekends, in May every day except Monday - komoot.nl/highlight/5412999 ), a spacious car park with access to two paths in the Verdronken Land nature reserve of Saeftinghe (behind the seawall, which you can easily access in two ways), and the fairly well-known and truly unique living room café Het Verdronken Land (open from February, debit cards not possible).
