This striking building, made of gray and red bricks, was built between 1894 and 1897 as the administrative building of the British colonial rulers.

Later, it housed the higher courts of the country until they moved to Putrajaya.

What exactly is there today? No idea, I could not find out clearly ...; O)

During the time of British colonial power, the palace housed the Federal Secretariat. The most significant historical event took place on August 31, 1953. Malaysia regained its independence after a long period of British rule. The Declaration of Independence was signed here. After Malaysia achieved independence, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building was used by various government departments. The Supreme Court has met in the palace since 1909. The Textile Museum has also recently been located in the palace.
