Tips
The question is always bad whether you want to hike uphill or downhill. Water is advisable in any case (better 3 liters) if you want to go up the mountain (La Merica) from Valle Gran Rey. In Arure you can then take the bus (line 1 for 2 euros) back at the El Jape restaurant. The restaurant is recognizable on the way to the main street

Fantastic view over the Valle Gran Rey and the sea. Very different landscapes on the shortest route. Sometimes the path is right on the edge.
