The Märzgasse is a street in 69117 Heidelberg that runs in the old town between the main street and Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage.
The name is first mentioned in 1607. The origin of the name is disputed.
The Herrengarten has been in the area between Märzgasse, Plöck and Theaterstrasse since the mid-16th century. A remainder has been preserved as the March Garden on the corner of Plöck. In 1876, the Märzgasse was extended to the Ebert-Anlage, and the former Lutheran hospital, built in 1755, was demolished during this breakthrough.

Hiking
The Märzgasse is located about halfway between Bismarckplatz and Universitätsplatz and is a connection from the main street to the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage. The traditional side street with its numerous cafés and bistros and small, individual shops with good advice invites you to stroll. Halfway up there is a playground and comfortable benches.
