The Kleine Felsengasse on the Nonnenstein near Jonsdorf is lined with thick iron crusts: these are the Felsengasse in the sandstone of the Zittau Mountains. Magmatic melts and gases penetrated here, leading to iron accumulations in the sandstone. While the igneous rock was eroded by weathering, the sandstones hardened by the iron remained. This is how the rocky alleys, which are ideal for walking through, came into being.
