Villa Osterberg (Abandoned Mansion)

In 1890, the castle villa, which can be seen from afar, was built on the Osterberg. It then had an eventful history, with the castle serving as a tourist restaurant, training center, holiday camp and residential home. Today, there are apartments here, which is why the building cannot be visited.

Villa Osterberg fascinates me every time I pass it. Unfortunately, the days of the old "spirit house at Dieksee" are numbered, because at the latest after a fire in the roof structure it can no longer be renovated. A new owner has already started clearing the garden. After the demolition of the building, which used to house an eye clinic, new living space is to be created here, which will fit into the park-like property on Niederkleveezer Osterberg and reflect the character of the old villa.
