Lake Willischza is one of those places that makes you pause, even though you only intended to get off the bike for a short while. A gently sloping sandy beach, clear shoreline, birch trees along the edge, and a heavenly tranquility – at least during the week. It can get busier on weekends, but even then the lake remains pleasant.

For cyclists, Lake Willischza is a true find:

Just a few minutes off the main trails, it's nestled in the forests surrounding Burg. There are several small swimming spots, shady benches, and a few places where you can easily leave or lock your bike. The lake is manageable in size, but big enough to swim a few laps – and feel like you're in a nature film.

Arriving early gives you the best selection of spots. Arriving late, just bring patience – or a picnic blanket. There's no infrastructure: no shower, no kiosk, no lifeguards – but instead, peace, nature, and the feeling of having found the right lake.
