Gas-Kraftwerk Duisburg-Alsum

This gas power plant was built in the 1990s in connection with the replacement of the former coking plant August-Thyssen by the new building at the harbor Schwelgern 500 m further north. Because of the design of the Naturzug cooling tower, it is also called "Obelix". As part of the gas interconnected economy of the (weaker) blast furnace blast furnace gas and (rich) Kokereigas not required gas quantities are converted into electricity.
