Extract from the website of the city of Neumarkt:The former Spittler or Nürnberger Tor was built as part of the city fortifications in the 13th century. The tower was demolished around 1825. The first reconstruction took place in 1859, which was blown up in 1945. Today's lower gate was built in 1989/90.More information is available here:
