The castle of De Pinte with accompanying park was created in different phases. Stoker Bernard Verniers and his wife Eleonore De Brabandere bought several plots of land with the accompanying old farm between the current Baron de Gieylaan and the Groenstraat in the course of the first half of the 19th century. He had this farm demolished in 1847. Their country house with a neoclassical view was built on the vacant site. It was named “La Pinte”. From 1881 the country estate served as the main residence and the surrounding park and pond were laid out. Horse stables were built at the back of the park in 1901. As a result, the domain increasingly took on the appearance of a castle park. Greenhouses were also built, in which vegetables, fruit and flowers were grown. In 1932, the main building was transformed into a castle by order of the then owner Hubert Viteux. A tower with belvédère was added and every comfort was provided inside. From 1942 the building served as a town hall for several years.

After Viteux's death in 1958, the castle was put up for sale. The municipality was interested, but the de la Kethule de Ryhove family beat them to it. In 2002 the castle was again put up for sale and this time the municipality proceeded to purchase it. After all, the municipal council wanted to avoid touching the beautiful park in the middle of the village. The castle has had a catering function since 2009. A banquet hall is currently housed in the castle building. The banquet hall is appropriately named 'Castle Viteux'. The coach house houses a restaurant with the equally appropriate name 'Café Hubert'.
