Great view of the church. I found this information in the office of Sandesneben-Nusse:

"The Marienkirche in Sandesneben goes back to the year 1278. Its altar was consecrated in 1314 by the Ratzeburg bishop Marquard von Jossow.

The nave originally had a three-aisled vault, but it collapsed in 1640 and was replaced by a wooden ceiling. The former lattice tower burned down in 1878. This tower, like the neo-Gothic successor built in 1906, did not stand to the west of the church, but to the east of the north side of the nave.

During the renovation from 1963 to 1965, the porch was added to the entrance. The oldest piece of equipment is a font from the 13th century. The animal figures and hunting scenes are remarkable about it. On the pulpit is the head of a cherub, which comes from the ducal grave monument in the Maria Magdalenen Church in Lauenburg, which was demolished in 1817 (1598). The statue of the Virgin Mary in the altar niche was created in 1978 by the sculptor Jospeh Pagenkemper in Langenburg in Westphalia. "

Sandesneben is a municipality with almost 1900 inhabitants (2023). The settlement is of Slavic origin and was first mentioned in the 13th century as Zanzegnewe. Since then, Sandesneben has had the now impressive St. Mary's Church.
