In 1907, the manufacturer Heinrich Janssen began to build a park in the Klüt district of Hamelin.

His son Dr. Heinrich Janssen had a small tea pavilion built there in 1928. There are two small additions to the pavilion. The dome is said to have initially consisted of copper, which had to give way to a cladding made of "papier-mâché" after the war. Inside there is said to have been a marble fireplace, furniture and putti. Electricity and a drinking water connection were not available. In front of the tea house is a terrace with a large lawn. There was also a stream with two beautiful wooden bridges. The garden, which was then around 120 years old, was laid out in the English style with rare deciduous and coniferous trees from overseas. The paths are said to have been equipped with lanterns during celebrations.

The special trees have disappeared. Today, new trees block the view of the once carefully maintained visual aisles of the old town and the Weser.

After the Second World War the garden became overgrown. The bridges in the garden were dismantled and burned due to a lack of firewood.

Janssen Park is an abandoned property over 100 years old at the end of the Klütviertel. It looks a bit enchanted and also impressive when suddenly there is a large gate in the forest!
