And a plaque with information, because this place is not just any place, but under this tree met from time immemorial all those who had to migrate from the region for their troublesome income to Holland, in order to pardon there for pay and bread.

"Hollandgänger were migrant workers, who moved after the Thirty Years' War, about 1650 to 1914 - driven by social hardship - from economically weak areas of Germany seasonally in the Netherlands (colloquially: Holland) to work there and a much-needed income for themselves and Migrant workers moving to West or East Frisia were also referred to as "Frieslanders."

Holland gang was a form of seasonal labor migration and is now seen as part of the much larger and more extensive North Sea system. From the Hollandgang developed in certain regions of Westphalia and neighboring parts of the country Töddenhandel.
