Its roots reach deep into history: the Evangelical Lutheran St. Georg Church in Badbergen (Osnabrück district), Lower Saxony, was built in the Middle Ages on noticeably older predecessor structures. The building, constructed from rubble stone, still shows Romanesque features today and surprises with a structural peculiarity – an octagonal tower base. For more than two centuries, from 1651 to 1869, Catholics and Protestants shared the house of worship as a simultaneum church.
