Sculpture of two brothers from a noble Savoyard family, commissioned by the Academy of Savoy and created by the sculptor Ernest Dubois at the end of the 19th century.
The two Chamberians represented were famous in their time. Joseph de Maistre (1753-1821) is a lawyer and philosopher, his younger brother Xavier de Maistre (1763-1852) is a writer.

Joseph Marie, Comte de Maistre (born April 1, 1753[1] in Chambéry; † February 26, 1821 in Turin) was a Savoyard statesman, writer and political philosopher who exposed the foundations of the Ancien Régime to the ideas of the Enlightenment and their consequences defended during the French Revolution. He was an important representative of the counter-enlightenment.
