Martin Pedersen Spangsberg (also known as Morten Spangsberg) was born in 1696 in Jerne (now part of Esbjerg) and died in 1761 in Kronstadt. He was an 18th-century Danish officer and merchant, primarily associated with the Danish colonies in the Caribbean and trade. Spangsberg played a significant role in Denmark's trade and military operations, especially in the West Indies colonies. His life and work are an example of the Danish presence in the colonial period.
