    Devil's table in the Wellerthal.
In the Wellerthal, on the way from Leupoldshammer to Blumenthal on the right bank of the Eger, there is also a devil's table! It is a flat granite slab stored at ground level. The circumference measures 15 meters, in the middle is a carved out circle of 1.6 meters in diameter and grooves that lead to the stone edge. These are blood grooves, as the vernacular knows! But even here it was not the devil who was up to mischief. The stone formed the base plate for a lubricating furnace, on the tree resin
was won for the production of car lubricants. The Pechgewinnung happened on the principle of a charcoal and after a Einmeisselung this happened around the year 1746.

The Devil Plate is nothing more than a big flat stone with a gutter. The function is described in the existing partitions (German & Czech).

Once there was a tea oven on this floor slab. The liquid resin was obtained from the spruce wood by heating. This flowed out of the furnace through the still visible "blood channel" and was used as a lubricant for the iron hammers operated by the hammer gentleman Johann Christof Weller in the Eger valley.
