    Johan Van de Sande-Verheyen had the mill erected in 1735. De Eenhoorn got its name because (before 1830) it was owned by David Gijsen, druggist on the Korenmarkt in Antwerp, whose sign "Den Eenhoorn" hung. It was also popularly called "Witte Molen" due to the fact that it was whitewashed.
