from Wikipedia .... The HoHo Wien is a high-rise in the Seestadt Aspern in the 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt. With 24 storeys and 84 meters high, it is the world's second-tallest wooden skyscraper after Mjøstårnet in Brumunddal, Norway. The building was originally 81 meters high and only reached a height of 85.5 meters by means of an extended construction. The HoHo Wien is located on a 4,000 square meter property directly at the Seestadt U2 station and an adjacent multi-storey car park. [1] After 1.5 years of construction, the first part of the building was completed in March 2018. The building was completed in early 2019. In addition to offices, it includes a hotel, gym, restaurants and apartments. The proportion of wood on the outside is 75 percent from the ground floor, while the ceilings and walls in the interior are made of spruce wood. [2] [3] Wooden houses like HoHo Wien have been seen as an answer to climate change since scientists like Hans Joachim Schellnhuber suggested that wooden houses are a way of storing carbon dioxide and thus of the negative greenhouse gas emissions required to meet the two-degree target.
