The Forggensee is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts in summer and in winter, when it is drained, you can hike on its bottom.

DJ writes that you can partially cross the Forggensee in summer, that's true, but you need a boat to do that. In summer the lake is fully dammed at an altitude of 781 meters above sea level, at the end of winter the water level drops by a maximum of 16 meters from the full dam, the water then recedes to the level of Osterreinen. During this time you can partially drive on the remains of the old B16. You can't cross the lake, you would have to swim across the Lech river.
