Hoher Ge is a small mountain peak in the Vienna Woods that is 528 meters high. It lies between the Mitterberg (also called K2) and the Salamanderhöhe. It has a summit cross and a summit book that was donated by the seven people who built the summit in 2015. The name Hoher Ge comes from the first letters of the seven first names: Gerhard, Ernst, Gerlinde, Erich, Gabi, Eva and Günter. From Hoher Ge you have a beautiful view of the Vienna Woods and the surrounding towns such as Gießhübl, Kaltenleutgeben or Perchtoldsdorf. There are several hiking trails that lead to Hoher Ge, for example from Wassergspreng over the southern ridge of the Mitterberg or from the Höllensteinhaus over the Salamanderhöhe. A round trip to Hoher Ge and Höllensteinhaus takes about three to four hours.

Since December 1984, there is a summit cross on a small rock of the Mitterberg near Wassergspeng, next to which a summit book is deposited. From this it is clear that the inconspicuous stone Mugel "Hoher Ge" means. This name is formed from the initial letters of Helmut, Oskar, Heinz, Erich, Rudi, Gert and Edi, who are responsible for cross and book. The name in the Wienerwaldkarte "Hohes Ge" is therefore wrong, unless Rudi had changed his name. - (derstandard.at/1528209/Fast-ein-Kultgipfel)

16.02.2019 - This hiking destination has not got round the clock yet, but Wienerwald fans make a pilgrimage to the Hohen Ge at least once a year, which slowly gains a cult status similar to that of the mysterious Rossgipfel. If you are looking for a new, unusual route from the Wassergspreng to the Höllenstein, then take the detour via the Mitterberg.
