Not sure if it is only me but I find this climb incredibly hard and punishing on a steam driven bike - reasonably steep but lots of loose rock to lose traction and bump to a halt. I have done it on an e-bike and it still makes for a challenge, but under your own steam it is a real test of resilience - worth it for the great views and when you get to Jacobs side of course.

I did it yesterday as part of the route below. Probably the hardest climb I've done, long, steep and technical. I ended up pushing for much of it. I think it would still be difficult on an e-bike due to the terrain. You've even riding up a shallow stream for some of it (or at least I was after a period of heavy rain).
