The Filmmuseum Potsdam has resided since 1981 in the royal stables next to the rebuilt city palace, now the seat of the Brandenburg state parliament, in Potsdam's historic center. The building was built in 1685 as the Electoral Orangery. Since then, the building has undergone a varied history with different uses. The museum has been part of the Film University Babelsberg since 2011.

In the permanent exhibition, many film professions are presented in a very vivid way: in addition to the stars, also the authors, directors, cameramen, film architects, costume designers, make-up artists, editors, sound engineers, producers and and and - film only arises from the interaction of so many different trades and creative professions. As others have already written, you can work interactively and immerse yourself in the flair of the "dream factory". I visited the exhibition twice - and certainly not for the last time!
