In 1486 the Norderbeste was dammed to form a 64-hectare fish pond. The Grabauer See, also known as the Hohendammer Mühlenteich, first belonged to the Borstel estate, then from 1806 to the Grabau estate. In 1936 the Wehrmacht bought the pond. After 1945 it remained in public ownership and was leased for the purpose of carp farming. For this he was released annually.
