The Church of the Ascension is an Orthodox church, built of wood between 1904 and 1907, allegedly without a single nail. It is one of the tallest wooden churches in the world and survived the earthquakes of 1910. It experienced different times: from a museum to a concert hall, before being returned to the church and restored in 1995. Very beautiful inside, in the Orthodox style.
