At the entrance of the museum you go through a "triumphal arch" of giant jawbones of a whale. The museum is very interesting, because here you can learn a lot about the history of Friesland. Further information such as Prices and opening times can be found at friesen-museum.de.

An interesting exhibition on the cultural history of Föhr from the Stone Age to modern times. Especially interesting was the exhibition about the whaling era. For the Föhringer, whaling in the northern Arctic Ocean was a vital source of income 300 years ago. Using their lives, the whalers, from small rowing boats (see photo), caught the huge whales with hand harpoons. Definitely watch the 1922 film in the showroom.

Very lovingly designed and prepared that it makes you want to explore history. In summer there is history to touch for children with small workshops.
