The Hausgenossenturm is so far noteworthy that it was executed by the plant rectangular with a round side on the west side. He looks therefore seen from the east like a square tower from the west but round.
He stands directly at a lock of the lute channel and was part of the city fortifications.

Picturesque household tower; in the nearby water gate from 1748 is the Lauter lock (ecluse). Seen when walking the "Circuit des Remparts" / ramparts walk.
