    Hiking

In 1688, the Palatine Elector Philipp Wilhelm ordered to replant the cleared mountain. With Löhrer Berg one means "the empty mountain" and also a vineyard is no exception.

Deep springs in the mountain guarantee a rare sinking water supply, especially in hot years enormously important. The very high solar radiation, heat absorption and a forest strip cause a small climate, which leads to the full maturation of the grapes.

The Langenlonsheimer Löhrer Berg (leerer Berg) is one of the oldest Riesling locations on the Nahe. This was ensured in 1688 by the Palatinate Elector Philipp Wilhelm von der Pfalz, who ordered that the wind-protected southern slope should be planted exclusively with Riesling and not mixed with different vines. Numerous water sources supply the loamy soil, which is interspersed with river gravel, and make it very fertile. Juicy Rieslings reminiscent of apple fruit are produced here from vines over 40 years old, which often develop wonderfully earthy notes with a little maturity.
