Lünen is a beautiful city with a nice open pedestrian zone and a high-rise town hall. This is where the Seseke cycle path ends and the Lünen Lippeauen are there as a circular route. Via part of the Römer-Lippe-Route we are on the Datteln-Hamm Canal to Werne. Nice city with a lot of water.

Here at adventure station 12 you can take a close look at a life-size replica of the nesting burrows of the sand martin and the kingfisher. Further information about the behavior and lifestyle of the two bird species can be found on the board on the "Brut cave tower". The emergence of a new environmental awareness in the 1980s ensured that the river and floodplain were gradually seen again as a unit and as a habitat worthy of protection. With the Lippe floodplain program developed by the Lippe Association, the turn came towards a near-natural redesign of the Lippe.
