"In memory of the Prince-Bishop Christoph Bernhard von Galen (1650-1678), a monument was erected in 1902 opposite the Marienlinde.
He is considered a patron of the pilgrimage to the Telgte image of grace. On June 1, 1654, he personally laid the foundation stone of the pilgrimage chapel he himself endowed."
