The Mühlenbachtal had been endangered for a long time by the planned extension of the B 236. Things got really bad in 2002 when, in addition to the street, commercial and residential areas were planned. The Lüner population did not accept that and after a referendum carried out in 2003, the plans were finally off the table. The Mühlenbachtal is now retained as an important local recreation area, especially for the residents of Brambauer.
