The Union Pier in Nordenham was built in 1864 by Union Dampfschifffahrt GmbH. From here, cargo ships were loaded with cattle for England. Today, the ferries of the "Hal över" shipping company and other traditional ships dock at the newly built Union Pier in the summer season.
