The eastern part of the Nordenham lake park is home to a large colony of common terns.
The lakes were created because soil was removed from there for the construction of dykes and to cover a landfill site at the zinc smelter.

Seenpark 1 (Blexersande) is a gravel pit lake in Lower Saxony near Nordenham. The lake is heavily fished and highly rated by our members.
The most commonly caught fish here are pike, perch, carp, tench, zander, and six other species. The most successful fishing method is spin fishing.
