The lower light with a height of 17 m is a white, three-legged lattice beacon with a gallery and a green copper dome roof. It is located south of Nordenham, just before the Grossensiel sluice lock. The tower was built in 1897/98 and initially served as Einswarden front light a few kilometers further north. In 1914 it was moved to its present location (source: nordseejadeweser.de/poi/glühturm-grossensiel).

On the southern outskirts of Nordenham is the Abbehauser Sieltief, which flows into the Weser behind a sluice gate. This is where the small Sielhafen Großensiel is located today, where not only sports boats moor, but also cargo is handled. Today's Großensiel sub-fire is located directly at the port facilities and is easy to see. The leafless season is recommended for a visit.
