The tidal mill in Kruibeke dates from the 16th century and is the only remaining mill in Europe that (as the name suggests) can grind grain by using the tides. The mill wheel is also the largest covered wheel in Belgium. Today it only operates for tourist purposes and on days of cultural heritage and monument conservation.
