The wingnut (Pterocarya fraxinifolia), also known as Caucasian wingnut or ash-leaf wingnut, is a species of wood from the walnut family (Juglandaceae). Their range extends from the Caucasus to northern Persia. The wingnut can be found particularly in moist forests and near flowing water. It owes its name to its winged nuts.
This magnificent specimen was planted here on the occasion of the Buga 2009 and obviously feels very comfortable and has found its new home here.
