Built between 1901 and 1905 and extended in several sections between 1927 and 1949, the town hall Köpenick has been a listed building since 1982. The building became world famous only one year after its construction by the so-called Captain von Köpenick. The unemployed shoemaker Friedrich Wilhelm Voigt arrested the mayor Georg Langhans on 16.10.1906 in a captain's uniform and with the help of ten soldiers who came in, and seized the city treasury.

Because the district is full of stories as well as about Captain Von Köpenick or the many restaurants where you could eat well.
