It is always impressive what complex water systems were built around the centuries of mining. Today, for example, the moats and ponds are pleasant companions along many hiking trails and hiking destinations. The whole system is part of the Oberharzer Wasserwirtschaft / Oberharzer Wasserregal world cultural heritage.
