The Schwellgraben connects the Reschbach- with the Teufelsbachklause. With 75 meters difference in altitude, the water was led around the mountain around the Teufelsbachklause, which was created for the wood drift, to fill faster with water again. When opening the Teufelsbachklause for the Holzdrift this was empty in 45 '. It would have taken 4 to 24 hours, depending on the inflow of the Teufelbach, to fill it up again. This time was significantly reduced by the Reschbachklause and the Schwellgraben.
