At this place there is a huge field with excavation sites. The Roman fort “Arnsburg-Alteburg” once stood here with its camp village and an amphitheater.

A large meadow on which one can still recognize structures today based on the different vegetation and computer evaluations - unfortunately hardly noticeable for the walker, but explained on the boards!

The northernmost cohort fort in the Wetterau with 500 men to secure the Limes. With an impressive size of 2.9 hectares, the foundation walls were only visible again at the north gate. The fort was occupied from the end of the 1st century until around AD 260. An aluminum cast of the fort area and good signage give an overview of the entire complex and the Limes World Heritage Site. In 2020/21 excavations were carried out in the grave field with significant findings that will be continued in 2022. The small cemetery of the Hof Güll estate is also interesting.
