In the interwar period of the 20th century, the Rákóczi Tower housed the geological collection of the city of Wiener Neustadt. Over the period from 1919 to 1934 there was no military training center in the castle, but instead a highly innovative Federal Educational Institute (BEA), which bore the name "School at the Tower".
