Steiger Hohle, an idyllic, rock-cut path with a history.

This used to be a trade route to the town of Crawinkel in the direction of Oberhof. This ravine was so narrow that it was only possible to pass it in the morning in the direction of Oberhof and in the afternoon only in the other direction, i.e. from Oberhof in the direction of Crawinkel. It was one of the oldest one-way streets in Europe. The town of Crawinkel benefited immensely from this one-way street regulation. The wagoners used the waiting time in Crawinkel to eat, to have the horses looked after or to have repairs carried out on the wagons. That brought a certain prosperity to Crawinkel.
