Former fire brigade school "Schloss Bahrensdorf" consisting of the former manor house (rest home), riser and fire watch tower with siren, gas training house and infirmary, car hall / training building, administration and residential building as well as granite paving in front of the car hall. It was opened in July 1927 as the first German fire brigade school.

During the GDR era, the former fire brigade school was called the Institute of Civil Defense. Officers were trained here in four classes. Courses were offered for other NVA officers in other branches of the military. Every year on February 23, Civil Defense Day, the officers who had completed their studies were appointed officers. Generals from Berlin and Strausberg and many other guests came. All employees took part. There was a march to the army orchestra from Berlin and a celebration in the evening in the cultural center. It was really very festive. I worked there as a photographer. The institute often had guests - Army General Heinz Hoffmann and Heinz Keßler, Lothar Kolditz, President of the National Front, delegations from Switzerland, Cuba... Unfortunately, many buildings were demolished - the staff and school building, accommodation for the officer cadets, buildings for the retroactive services, printing shop, carpentry shop, Schukurama, boiler house and the large kitchen building.
