The upper lake of Bastan is the last and the highest (2260 meters above sea level) of the three lakes of Bastan.
This set owes its name to its staircase arrangement, at the foot of the Pic de Bastan which culminates at 2715 meters. Peak which has one foot in the Néouvielle massif and the other in the Arbizon massif.translated by

Lake is above Refuge Bastan and like the lower lakes offers good camping opportunities.I got through here on my Great Pyrenees Traverse in 65 hiking days. Would like more ?
