    Pit 3/4/7
    Shaft 3
You can see the scaffolding above shaft 3, which was originally designed for double funding. It dates from 1897 and is a special form of the German strut scaffolding. It has three struts, because double headframes were initially built like two single headframes butting together, in which two struts merged into one.

    Shaft 4
The approximately 64 meter high headframe above shaft 4 was erected in 1984/85 and belongs to the group of welded box structures that were implemented from the end of the 1950s. A special feature of the conveyor system is the five-rope conveyor, which was rarely used in mining. The scaffolding is one of the few well-preserved examples of this comparatively young type of construction, which represents the final development phase of rope support structures in the Ruhr area.

    Shaft 7
The headframe of shaft 7 was blown up on October 30, 2013. Today you can see a Protego hood and a halved pulley at this point.

Now partly demolished, partly reused in the new technology park. The railway track leads through the middle. Refreshments 1 km further west in the farm Wessels.

The Schlägel und Eisen colliery is well worth a visit. It is not far from the Westerholt castle to the Allee des Wandelstrasse, which leads through the grounds of the Schlägel und Eisen colliery to Ewald colliery.
